Admission comes first, and the funding is partial. The University of Twente Scholarship (UTS), in the Netherlands, is worth considering for the right applicant, but it should not be treated as a promise that all study costs will be covered.

The current 2027 route

The official UTS page lists September 2027 Master of Science (MSc) entry and an application window from 15 October 2026 to 1 April 2027. Its published closing label is 16:00 Central European Time (CET); check that label directly with the university if converting it to another time zone.

Awards are €3,000–€22,000 for one year. Two-year continuation is conditional on academic progress. Eligible applicants need provisional admission and a student number, excellent results, the stated English scores and relevant visa eligibility. Exclusions cover Dutch or European Union/European Economic Area applicants, current Twente students or prior graduates, statutory-fee or Dutch-study-loan-eligible applicants, pre-Master routes and the Geo-Information Science and Earth Observation faculty. Read the complete conditions, including second-year thresholds.

Separate the two applications

Apply for an eligible master’s first, then use the official scholarship entry form. Its public entry asks for your student number. The university warns admission processing may take eight weeks. The complete personalised upload stages were not inspected; follow the official form’s instructions, not a supposed universal document list.

Our preparation checklist

Academic fit

Save the qualifying programme page and explain why its content fits your study goals. Keep your admission and scholarship records separate.

Funding gap

Compare your full budget with the actual award offered. Do not make commitments on the assumption that the maximum award or a second year is guaranteed.

  • Keep a copy of the criteria and deadline you relied on, with the date you checked them.
  • Gather your admission correspondence and student number before starting the scholarship route.
  • Prepare questions about costs or unclear conditions early rather than submitting at the last moment.
  • Use the university’s official contact route if a form or time-zone label is unclear.

These are Swan Study Bridge preparation suggestions. Selection remains the university’s decision; we do not offer a Twente nomination service or guarantee an award.
